-Looking with my ears wide open-

Living in the mountains is simple and with little excitement.
The night is dark and the morning is foggy, so visibility is poor.

I tried my best to see things in the darkness and the fog.
That was when I realized I was trying to look with my ears wide open.

When I look with my ears wide open, my senses begin to settle down, and I start noticing things that are normally hidden.

By concentrating on these things, which almost seem to be talking to me in a different language, I lost my sense of physical size.

I started to see the small parts of big things, and the big parts of small things.

−耳を凝らして見る−

山の生活は刺激がすくなくてシンプルです。
夜はとても暗闇になり、朝には霧がでて、よく見えません。

闇や霧のなかでわたしは、よおく見ようとしました。
そうすると、耳を凝らすように見ている自分に気がついたのです。

耳を凝らして見ていると、わたしの感覚はしだいに澄みわたって、ふだん潜んでいるいろいろな気配が訴えかけてきます。

まるで違う言語で話しかけてくるそれらに集中すると、物理的な大きさの感覚がすっと消えました。
小さなものの大きなところ、大きなものの小さなところが見えてきたのです。
