This book takes you back to a time before and at the dawn of Political Correctness when people had a thicker skin, were free to laugh at others as well as themselves, without fear of reprisal, loss of job or physical violence. Things were taken lightly and ‘come backs’ became an art form. People were emotionally flexible and the worst reaction would be silence or a comment about poor taste. “Stereotype” was an understood term and held in a context. For most of we members of the ‘Next to the Last Great Generation’ have witnessed many great eras. To see them come and go is part of the inevitability of life. The older we get, the more lamenting we will do. PC, on the other hand, has come but instead of going , grew to dominate our culture and society. What we used to make fun of as a passing fad became an insidious at societal re-engineering. So, enjoy this brief glimpse of some of the humor we used to take for granted from the 90’s and be careful who you share it with; the humor Gestapo may show up at your door and take you away to a “re-education” camp, never to be seen again.
