The Mississippi River is the 4th longest in the world, its 2350 miles long, starts 80 miles south of Canada in northern Minnesota and finishes at the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico. At times, no more than a metre wide and half a foot deep and at others 200ft deep and 2 miles wide it could be considered crazy to try and go down it all by boat...especially one powered by hand...
My names Grace Alsancak and I set myself the challenge of doing just that; to kayak the length of the Mississippi River as part of a 2-person team. This is my story of our 58-day adventure, the highs, the lows, and everything in between.
This book will give you the answers to many of life’s unanswered questions; just how do you go to the toilet in a kayak…How does it feel to be hit by a flying fish … Just how long is too long when it comes to not showering? ... and many more!
I hope you enjoy reading this book and thank you for your support as all proceeds will be donated to the Theodora Children’s Charity to help with their work providing children’s entertainers in to hospitals and hospices around the UK.
