For every child who was evacuated from a city under the threat of bombing during World War II, there is a unique story. No-one's war was exactly like another’s, because everyone saw it from a different place, and through a different pair of eyes. This story is about how the War appeared to one girl, aged seven to thirteen, and her little brother. It isn't just about war with Germany, but a personal war with fear, loneliness and homesickness. It is a war that we won. It is one child's war.
