The writings of Watchman Nee have been a great comfort and blessing to Christians all over the globe. Watchman Nee was born in China and became a Christian at the age of 17 through the preaching of Dora Yu. He became a zealous believer and Christian leader and during his ministry he never stopped teaching the Bible and led many to Christ as well as edifying the Body of Christ.
Most of Watchman Nee's books are based on sermons, Bible studies, and teaching sessions. Many have been taken from sermon notes, or the translation of such notes or literature that he published in China during the 1920s, 30s and 1940s. It was extensive, with over 63 books available in English translation of his teachings.
Watchman Nee refused to soften or water down his Gospel message and teaching. He was finally imprisoned for his faith by Communist authorities in China in 1952. Four years later, he was brought to trial in Shanghai in 1956 where he was accused of various charges, including sabotage and spying (which he denied). He was sentenced to prison for 15 years, where he remained until his death in 1972.
This eBook: 'Ten Sermons that Shook China' is a group of Nee's sermons that have special relevance and a powerful Gospel message. The sermons were taken from a sampling of literature, teaching manuals, and sermons that have special significance for China. Almost all of the messages are from sermons or teachings that Nee delivered in China during times of revival or outpourings of the Spirit, conferences, and/or teaching seminars. They also represent sermons about the Gospel message as it pertains to true freedom, atheism, land ownership and wealth, and salvation only through Christ.
These out of copyright sermons have never before been grouped together in this manner, and the editorial notes, and introductory front matter consisting of 'Introduction' and 'Some Thoughts About Watchman Nee' have never before been published in any manner and should be considered annotated content.
Compiled in China, and presented by the New Gospel Book Room in Shanghai.
