A short and colourful bestseller* and 'A-Z' for 'Wwoofers', people volunteering with the W.W.O.O.F movement. 'WORLD WIDE OPPORTUNITIES (or WILLING WORKERS) ON ORGANIC FARMS'. (Does not contain contact details for farms)
A humorous illustrated e-book, based on the author’s own experiences whilst being a 'Wwoofer' in England, Wales, Scotland, France, Portugal, Spain and Hungary, over a period of ten years. 'A. Greenman' has also volunteered on projects in India, New Zealand and Brazil, sharing his essential guide to living simply close to the land. The guide is also supported and sold by 'Wwoof Australia'.
The book is not written by Wwoof, but by British long term wwoofer, 'A. Greenman', and is aimed to be useful to wwoofers of all nationalities, wwoofing in any country.
*Please note that it does not give instructions on how to carry out the tasks you may be asked to do whilst wwoofing. Rather, it guides you through 'how to go wwoofing', and some steps to perhaps be aware of: before, during, inbetween and after wwoofing. The short guide does so in an uplifting manner, characteristic of Greenman's writing. Giving positive and confidence building advice to first time land volunteers and new travellers alike. Not just a guide, but also a personal insight into a nomad's decade of travelling light.
Greenman produced the first paperback book on the subject in 2009. When presenting it to the founder of Wwoof, 'Sue Coppard', he received this comment from the green guru:
"I found it to be a delightful and informative read, very accessibly and humanly written - it almost reads itself to you!"
A. Greenman is a dyslexic author of numerous other works of both fiction and non-fiction, including the 'Adventures of a Greenman - Raw Travel Series, collectively forming: 'I Travel Light - The Man Who Walked Out of the World'. Though his work is edited, his unique style of expressing words is not cut in order to be polished to an unnatural finish, often remaining in its organic state.
In 2012, his work attracted the attention of the BBC in the UK, one broadcaster said: “You are the person inside all of us that we wish we could let out from time to time, possibly the most spontaneous traveller I have ever met!”
*No.30 in the Amazon Bestsellers list, U.S, (Category - 'Ecotourism', 15th December 2013)
