The book is the Spanish translation of King Pachuco and Princess Mirasol, a middle-grade fantasy in which a king and princess who live in a nearby galaxy are transformed into parrot eggs and sent through a wormhole in space to Albuquerque, New Mexico. There they meet in the kitchen of an old couple and must overcome daunting obstacles to escape from their cages into the night sky, wing back through the wormhole, and return to their homeland and their human forms. The book was a finalist in the New Mexico/Arizona Book Awards and nominated for the Premier Azlán Award by the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
