An unnamed copy editor who works for a startup book publisher is persuaded by a coworker named Dave to read a political narrative manuscript written by Dave’s neighbor Merricka Thompson. In the manuscript, far right-wing Merricka fears that America as he knows it is being transformed into a socialist politically correct melting pot third world nation by Barack Obama and the liberals. He believes that if every American was just like him; a white, heterosexual conservative God-fearing, NRA supporting, Fox News watching, pro-life, capitalist anti-Black, anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim, Ronald Reagan worshipping Republican, the United States would be great again. Merricka describes his lifestyle and philosophy, and how it plays out in his daily interactions with other people and situations he finds himself in. The unnamed copy editor writes a reaction to the manuscript in the conclusion.
